GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - The State Government is out to destroy the madrassa education system, alleged All Assam Madrassa TET Successful Candidates� Association here today.

It said that the BJP-led Government in the State has been denying thousands of madrassa TET-qualified candidates their right to get appointment despite persistent appeals. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is totally non-committal on recruiting madrassa TET-qualified candidates who are Science and Arts graduates and belong to the pre-senior and alternative language categories.

The Education Minister did not make any mention of these candidates while making the latest announcement on the recruitment of 13,000 teachers, alleged the Association.

It demanded an unambiguous statement from the Education Minister and warned of a vigorous agitation if the demand was not met.
