Govt orders clearance of salary bills

GUWAHATI, Aug 1 � The Government of Assam has directed the Deputy Commissioners and Subdivisional Officers (Civil) of the State to instruct the Treasury Officers under their jurisdiction and administrative control to receive and pass all the bills and cheques and send to bank for payment if otherwise found in order, an official release said.

The bills in question include claims for drawal of salary, wages, work-charged and muster roll payment, grants-in-aid bills for payment of salary without Budget allocation for the month of July 2011, subject to adjustment from Budget allotment when made, claims for drawal of GPF and pensioner benefits and the claims submitted by the authorities of autonomous councils for payment of salary, wages, work-charged and muster roll payment and grants-in-aid bills for payment of salary for the month of July 2011 subject to adjustment from their PL accounts as and when accumulated.

It is noteworthy that, the Budget for the financial year 2011-12 has been passed by the Assembly and the communication of Budget grants for the year 2011-12 is being issued shortly, it added.
