GUWAHATI, Sept 11 � The body of Manikuth Pathak (35), a State Government official, was recovered in a near-decomposed state under mysterious circumstances from his residence located in Lakhimi Nagar of Hatigaon area this morning.
Senior Superintendent of Police (City) AP Tiwari told this reporter that the scene of crime has been �preserved� and the forensic experts had examined the place.
�Once the reports arrive, things will be corroborated and cross-examination will be done. It is too early to jump to any conclusion but we are taking the case very seriously,� Tiwari said.
