GUWAHATI, July 30 - The Government of Assam has appointed officials of the Labour and Employment Department as Inspectors under the Working Journalists and other Newspapers Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provision Act 1955.
The appointed officers will exercise their powers to implement the provisions of the Act and implement the
recommendations in force from time to time within their allotted jurisdiction, said an official press release here today.
According to the official order issued by the Labour & Employment Department, Government of Assam, Additional Labour Commissioners, Assam at Headquarters, Guwahati and all Deputy Labour Commissioners, at Headquarters, Guwahati are to look after the whole State of Assam. All Assistant Labour Commissioners, all Labour Officers and all Labour Inspectors will inspect within their own jurisdiction.
