DIBRUGARH, Jan 30 - The government employees under the call of the Zila Karmachari Parishad today registered their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill by staging a three-hour sit-in demonstration near the DC�s office here.
Anil Prasad Singha, general secretary, Zila Karmachari Parishad said that thousands of employees in the district took part in the demonstration. Employees also turned up from Borborooah, Tingkhong, Naharkatia, Duliajan, Chabua, Tengakhat and Lahoal areas, said Singh.
In a separate protest, the Dibrugarh District Congress Committee (DDCC) formed a human chain along the AT Road near Lakshminath Bezbaroa Children�s Park in protest against Bill.
The AGP also took out a protest march from its office in Chowkidinghee to the DC office. They later joined the sit-in organised near the DC�s office.
