DIMAPUR, Sept 13 - The Nagaland Land Revenue Department today directed all government departments and agencies in possession of land to obtain land pattas within six months.
The government departments and agencies were also asked to collect a copy of the countersigned survey map along with the land pattas and keep them in their records.
An office memorandum issued asked government departments and agencies to secure their plots of land from encroachment by constructing fences or boundary walls.
Compliance with the instructions will be reviewed after the end of the stipulated period. The office memorandum added that it had come to the notice of the Government that in the past few years, there has been an increase in instances of encroachment on government land.
It stated that numerous instructions had been issued from time to time for proper management, maintenance and security of government lands held by various departments and agencies in the State.
