Govt asked to implement demands raised at meeting with SAKP

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 - The Guwahati Zila Karmachari Parishad has asked the State government to implement all the demands of the employees and workers, raised during the Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad�s meeting with it on July 2.

It rued non-implementation of several demands raised at the meeting, adding that the workers and employees are still waiting for implementation of free medical service, expansion of the scope of pay band and increased payment of casual, fixed pay and muster roll employees.

�The discussion was held in the presence of State Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 2 this year. Though some of the demands raised at the meeting have been implemented, several decisions of the meeting are yet to be implemented, which is disheartening for the employees,� a statement issued by the employees� body said.

The organisation also asked the government to implement all the decisions taken at the meeting within January, 2019.

The Ganatantrik Shramik Adhikar Mancha has also expressed its dissatisfaction over the unfulfilled demands of the muster roll, fixed pay and casual workers as well as other workers and employees of the State.

�Despite the assurance from the State government, no concrete measures have been taken to fulfil the demands of the workers. As most of the deprived employees are low-grade, the government is indifferent to their demands,� it said.
