GUWAHATI, Dec 4 The State Government has agreed in principle to provide time scale promotion to its employees as per the recommendations of the SC Das Commission. This was conveyed to the representatives of the Sodou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at a meeting today.

The government also agreed to expedite the process of implementing the fixed travelling allowance and training allowance to the employees of certain departments as stated in the RoP, an official release said.

As regards arrear DA from January 1, 2006 to March 31, 2009, the Chief Minister said the government would look into the matter.

The Chief Minister said that though the government agreed as a policy to regularize the services of the remaining casual, work charge and muster roll workers, it had to keep the process in abeyance due to orders of the Supreme Court and the Gauhati High Court. He however, assured the SAKP leaders that the government would file an affidavit in the court of law for starting the process of regularization once again.

Gogoi also assured the delegation that the government would expedite the process of formulating a medical allowance scheme in the line of the Central government, and instructed the senior health officials present in the meeting to complete the formalities within three months.

The government also agreed in principle to provide pay scale and special allowance to the headmasters of the schools. Gogoi also assured that the SAKP's demand for retaining the earlier rail travelling facility enjoyed by the third and fourth grade employees would be actively considered by the State government.

The State government rejected the SAKP's demand for allowing a husband and wife duo to draw house rent allowance at the same place of posting.
