NALBARI, Feb 12: Jivan Silpi Adya Sarma award for 2021 will be conferred to popular puppetry artist Govinda Talukdar at a function to be held on February 23 on the occasion of sixth death anniversary of the legendary artist, sculptor Guruji Adya Sarma.
The award will carry a cash of Rs 15,000, a memento, a citation, xorai, chaleng sador, phulam japi among others. Earlier, the award was conferred to artist Benu Misra in 2016, flutist Prabhat Sarma in 2017, stage actor Dulal Roy in 2018, cinema producer Gauri Barman in 2019 and actress Meera Biswas in 2020.
On the occasion of the sixth death anniversary of Guruji Adya Sarma, a life size statue will also be unveiled at the Guruji Adya Sarma park on February 23.
