IMPHAL, March 7 � The 9 day XXIII Governor�s Cup invitation polo tournament and XXIII Governor�s Cup Women�s Polo tournament under the aegis of Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association began at the polo ground here today.
In the first day of the tournament, Manipur Police Sporting Club B trounced Imphal Riding Club by a margin of 9-1 goals.
A total of 9 men�s polo teams including Jammu and Kashmir based Himalayan Sports Drass Polo Club and 6 women�s polo teams are participating in the event.
State Chief Secretary DS Poonia, Additional Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga and Dr Ch Chourajit were the chief guests, president and guest of honour of the opening ceremony respectively.
