Governor reviews steps for Namami Brahmaputra

GUWAHATI, March 24 - Governor Banwarilal Purohit today took stock of the last minute preparations for the successful celebrations of the first ever Namami Brahmaputra Festival being organized across 21 districts from Sadiya to Dhubri by the Government of Assam.

Commissioner and Secretary to Transport Department Ashutosh Agnihotri and Managing Director of ASTC Anand Prakash Tiwari today paid a visit to Raj Bhavan and apprised the Governor of the steps the State Government has taken to make Namami Brahmaputra a unique event. The Governor asked them to ensure foolproof preparations so that all aspects of festival right from cultural programmes, indigenous sports meet, exhibitions of local and traditional handicrafts and handlooms, tea festival to business meets are addressed properly. They presented a badge bearing logo of Namami Brahmaputra to Purohit.
