The Governor presented the first copy of the book to the President. The book is a collection of translated articles as well as a few original articles written on Agnikanya Chandraprabha Saikiani by stalwarts of the Assamese society such as, Dr Bhupen Hazarika, Sarat Chandra Sinha, Lakhyadhar Choudhury, Suchibrata Ray Choudhuri, Neera Dogra, Induprabha Baruah, Dr Sheela Borthakur and others. A publication of Tezpur University, the book has been compiled and edited by Dr Rajeev Doley and Nandarani Choudhuri and guided by Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury and Dr Papori Baruah as the chairman and member respectively of the editorial board.

The articles of the book reflect not only the extraordinary contributions of Saikiani made towards Indias struggle for freedom, but also her exemplary and courageous initiative towards liberating women from social shackles and towards empowering them at par with their male counterparts. She did all this against the adversaries of social as well as individual beliefs prevalent at that time.
