GUWAHATI, Jan 7 - Governor PB Acharya has condoled the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who died at the AIIMS, Delhi due to multi-organ failure today. The Governor said that late Sayeed was a great leader of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Governor conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, a veteran politician, served twice as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir; for three years from November 2002 till November 2005 and then again from March 2015 until his death. He was also Union Home Minister from December 1989 to November 1990. He founded the Jammu and Kashmir People�s Democratic Party in July 1999.
