BADARPUR, April 21 - Governor Jagdish Mukhi has appealed to the officials and employees of the Karimganj district administration to work in a disciplined and transparent manner. While addressing a press conference on Friday evening in Karimganj, he said that present Government is laying stress on transparency. I have strictly instructed the Karimganj Deputy Commissioner to lay stress on transparency in every departmental office.

He also directed the Karimganj DC to submit reports by mail positively, immediately after inspecting at least six departments every day.

He also dismissed reports of scarcity of employees. He said, as all work is now computerized, so, compared to the work, the number of employees is greater. The allegation of insufficient employees in the offices is meaningless. It is a lame excuse, nothing else. He also said, I am a very practical man. I know well how official works are done. The steps, which I have taken, will surely change the functioning of the departments within three months.

The Governor also inspected the Indo-Bangla border areas of Karimganj and expressed satisfaction. He also visited various schools, colleges and hospitals of Karimganj district. Earlier, immediately after arriving at Badarpur ghat from Silchar, the Governor and his wife were given a warm reception by Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Talukdar, SP Gaurav Upadhhaya, Karimganj district BJP president Subrata Bhattacharjee, senior BJP leader Dipak Dev, mediaperson Prititosh Banik, Badarpur Circle Officer Deepmala Gowala and several other senior citizens of Badarpur.

Mukhi also took part in a ceremonial function of Badarpur-Srigouri Madhab Dham School and earnestly appealed to all the students to become good citizens. Thereafter, he also inspected the Srigouri Hospital. He also inspected the historical Malegarh of Karimganj and paid floral tributes to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the battle with British soldiers. He also released a book Mahabidroher Ranadhuni, at Malegarh.
