MORIGAON, Nov 6 - With the aim to develop agriculture and to use it for the socio-economic development of the people of the State, Governor Jagadish Mukhi has adopted Morigaon district for development of agriculture and allied activities.
Addressing a press conference here at the Morigaon DC conference hall, Mukhi said that the Morigaon district has enormous potential as most of the people are associated with agriculture, so developing the district in agriculture will lead to capacity building of its people. He, therefore, asked the Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon to conduct monthly meetings and monitor the activities very closely and encourage the farmers to go for multi-cropping system.
The Governor undertook a series of activities and visited the Golchepa Goatery farm. He also attended a programme at Ouzari and interacted with the farmers and weavers on eri seed production. He visited Pobitora Hut, Morigaon and attended a training programme by the Animal Husbandry and the Veterinary sector for the development of cattle and goat rearing. Further, he also attended a fishery training centre at Kalabithika and witnessed a programme on piggery and poultry farming in veterinary campus.
