BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 26 - The All Assam Gorkha Students� Union (AAGSU) and Gorkha Autonomous Council Demand Committee held a public rally today at Kamalakanta Kshetra here demanding inclusion of the names of Gorkha people residing in Assam in the ongoing NRC update process without any hassle and also autonomy to the Gorkha Development Council.
The rally was chaired by Prem Tamang, president of All Assam Gorkha Students� Union. Taking part in the rally as the chief guest, Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya, chief adviser of All Assam Students� Union said that the Gorkhas residing in Assam are an integral part of the State and nobody would be left out from the ongoing NRC update process. He further said that all the communities under the banner of 26 organisations (Jatiya Sangathan) would get justice.
AJYCP vice president Rana Prasad Baruah, ABSU president Pramod Bodo, All Assam Gorkha Sanmilan president Arun Upadhyaya, representatives from other like-minded organisations were also present in the rally which was attended by thousands of Gorkha people.
