Golden jubilee of Lal Singh Academy

GUWAHATI, Jan 12 - The year-long golden jubilee celebration of Lal Singh Academy High School, Kharghuli, will begin on January 17 with the hoisting of the school flag by Thir Narayan Singh, retired Supreme Court judge and son of late Lal Singh, in whose name the school was established in 1966.

The golden jubilee flag will be hoisted by economist Dr Jayanta Madhab, president of the celebration committee.

Coinciding with the Silpi Divas which falls on the same date, Jyoti Sangeet and recitation will be held among students.

Lal Singh Academy was the only high school in the entire area catering to the needs of the local people during the time of its launch. It came up due to the painstaking efforts of several local personalities who made their dream come true.
