Golden jubilee of BVFC Model School, Namrup

GUWAHATI, April 30 - The golden jubilee of BVFC Model School, Namrup, will be held with a three-day function from September 26 to 28.

A preparatory meeting held in the school here chalked out in detail the programme for the event. Presided over by Sister Sheeba Joseph, Principal of the school, the meeting was attended among others by Sister Mary Mathew, Superior of St Mary�s Convent, Naharkatia, several past pupils like veteran journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Indian Institute of Entrepreurship director Dr Abhijit Sharma, and members of the golden jubilee celebration committee.

The celebration will begin on September 26 with an open session for which the organisers are inviting the Chief Minister of Assam and a few other prominent people of the State. This would be followed by a cultural rally on September 27. The third and final day will be marked by an alumni meet where a large number of past pupils are expected to converge from all over the world. A souvenir volume will also be brought out to mark the golden jubilee celebration.

The BVFC Model School, was founded in 1969 by the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation, with the Sisters of St Mary�s Convent, Naharkatia.
