Golden jubilee celebration of Sathya Sai Seva Organisation concludes

GUWAHATI, July 8 - The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO), Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh was celebrated on July 6 and 7 at Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Nilayam, Jorpukhuri, Uzanbazar as well as at Brindavan Garden, RG Baruah Road, according to a press release issued today.

The programme started with hoisting of the flag on July 6 at Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Nilayam, followed by lighting of the lamp by all India president Nimish Pandya and chanting of Veda by Bal Vikas students.

Thereafter, a two-day elaborate programme was held at Brindavan Garden where Pandya and national co-ordinator of the organisation�s women�s wing Kamala Pandya were felicitated. The state presidents of SSSSO of Manipur and Sikkim were also felicitated.

A few very devoted veterans of the organisation were also honoured for their dedicated service in bringing the organisation to its present shape. Satyen Sarma, president of SSSSO of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh in his welcome address highlighted the contribution made by the organisation in the north-eastern region.

Nimish Pandya emphasised the need to follow the vision and mission of the organisation and to do seva (service) for betterment of society. He wished that the SSSSOs of North East would be able to organise themselves for implementing the various activities specified in three different wings of the organisation i.e. spiritual, educational and service.

The cultural items presented by Bal Vikas children and devotees of various samithis coming from different north-eastern states and alumni of the Sathya Sai educational institutions were the centre of attraction on both the days.

Noted artistes of North East like Rupam Bhuyan, Sangeeta Kakoty, Chitralee Goswami, Anirban Das and Rupak Sarma performed at the event. A few quality skits were presented by Bal Vikas students. Famous artiste from Mumbai and Bal Vikas student of yesteryear Parthana Choudhary was another attraction of the function.

The two-day closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebration ended with arati in front of the altar specially erected and decorated with Baba�s image, the release added.
