Gold biscuits recovered

NALBARI, Feb 27 � Following intelligence inputs, Nalbari Police recovered 80 gold biscuits weighing 13.3 kg and valued at Rs 3.5 crore from a vehicle at Barkura village on NH-31 within the district today and arrested four persons in this connection.

Those arrested are Jiaur Rahman,Islam Uddin Ahmed, Rajek Ali and Abdul Ali. They confessed to have brought the gold biscuits from Manipur to Hawli in Barpeta district.

Nalbari SP Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa said that the vehicle transporting the gold jumped police signal to stop at Barkura, following which it was seized.
