Golaghat�s erosion-hit roads to be repaired

GOLAGHAT, Sept 26 - The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Golaghat, Anuwarul Haque, reviewed several erosion-hit villages under Brahmaputra Gaon Panchayat, recently.

The DC visited Natun Chapari, Hemchapari and Sirishtika areas and took stock of the situation. He also discussed various issues with the villagers. He instructed the Agriculture and PW Departments to start repairing works of the Sirishtika and Milonpur road and assured the locals to solve the problem as soon as possible.

It may be mentioned here that the rural people of Bahguritimali under Dergaon Revenue Circle of the Kakodunga Development Block had sought immediate repair of the road and bridges, which were damaged due to erosion of the Brahmaputra river.

The DC was accompanied by Debeswar Bora, project director of the DRDA, Lakshimi Dutta, Circle Officer, Dergaon Revenue Circle, Rajib Goswami, officer at Irrigation Department of the district.
