GUWAHATI, March 13 � Golaghat were struggling at 68 for six against Karbi Anglong�s first innings total of 149 in the Plate Division Senior Inter District Cricket Championship.
On the opening day of the three-day second semifinal, Karbi Anglong decided to bat first after winning the toss. But barring Sanjoy Timung (36), Jitu Tumung (24) and Sar-Im Phangchu (20) no Karbi batsmen could provide reasonable contributions to their total.
Spinner Sanjeeb Hazarika was the most successful Golaght bowler with seven victims.
Chasing the moderate target, Golaghat batsmen were in deep trouble losing wickets at regular intervals. Opener Kulen Hazarika was the only notable contributor with 41 as other batsmen even failed to reach double figure. Four of their batsmen were out before opening their accounts.
