Gokulam Kerala to face Minerva in final

GUWAHATI, Oct 2 - I-League outfit Gokulam Kerala came from behind to book their place in the final of the 11th Bodousa Cup Invitational International Football Championship organised by the Bodousa Sports Club.

In an exciting second semifinal played at the Katchujan Playground in Tinsukia, Gokulam Kerala got the better of Sagolband United FC of Manipur 2-1 to seal their place in the final against another I-league team � Minerva Punjab FC.

Basant broke the deadlock for the Manipur side in the 20th minute although it didn�t take much long for Gokulam to draw parity as Joel found the back of the net in the 28th minute. The first half finished with the scoreline tied at 1-1.

After the break, the all important goal was scored by Beauting in the 69th minute. Despite desperate attempts to find an equaliser, Sagolband forwards failed to get the desired result with Gokulam defenders keeping the attacks at bay on numerous occasions. Gokulam Kerala defender Stephen walked with the player of the match honour.
