Gogoi to appear in court in defamation case

GUWAHATI, Jan 13 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will appear in the Court on January 18 in response to a court notice in connection with a defamation suit filed by former Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stated an official press release here today.

Sarma has filed the suit for Chief Minister Gogoi�s reported comment alleging his involvement in corruption. It may be noted that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had reportedly made a statement alleging that Himanta Biswa Sarma was involved in corrupt practices.
