GUWAHATI, July 24 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is ready to talk to any legislator to discuss his or her grievances and his feeling was conveyed to a team of senior legislators who met him late last evening.

Sources close to the Chief Minister told The Assam Tribune that a team of senior legislators headed by Sarat Barkataky, met Gogoi at his official residence late last evening to hold talks on the present political scenario. Gogoi told the legislators that he was ready to hold talks with any of the legislators and requested the senior legislators to bring even the dissidents for talks for an amicable solution to the present impasse.

Sources said Gogoi has started making preparations for reshuffling his Ministry, which has become necessary following the resignation of Himanta Biswa Sarma, while two other Ministers - Dr Ardhendu Kumar Dey and Siddique Ahmed - were dropped from the Ministry for their involvement in dissident activities.

Sources revealed that Gogoi is planning to visit New Delhi tomorrow to hold talks with the Congress high command on the present scenario. He is also likely to discuss the names of the persons likely to be inducted into the Ministry. If everything goes according to plan, Gogoi may reshuffle his Ministry before the Assembly session, which begins on August 4. Gogoi also made it clear to the senior legislators that he would hold talks with any legislator who wants to discuss his or her problems, immediately after his return from New Delhi.

Sources close to the Chief Minister further said that at least 20 legislators, including some who were in the dissident camp till recently, met Gogoi this evening to hold talks.

Meanwhile, dissident leader Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he was not summoned by the party High Command for talks as was reported in a section of the media and he was going to Delhi on a personal visit. In the last couple of years, we had talks with the AICC a number of times and there is nothing new to talks. I offer my best wishes to Gogoi for the 2016 polls.
