GUWAHATI, May 7 - Exuding confidence over Congress returning to power for a fourth consecutive term, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today ruled out the possibility of the grand old party propping up any Third Front government in Dispur in case of a hung Assembly after May 19.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Chief Minister said that as per the Congress internal assessments, the party is on its way to win a majority in the Assembly polls.

I am hundred per cent sure that we will again form the government, he said.

Asked about reports that AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal is exploring formation of as Third Front government with the outside support of Congress, Gogoi said, Ajmals dream will remain a dream. Why should we prop up a Third Front government? Congress is not having such bad days that we will need to seek support of Ajmal or extend our support to him. Ajmal has good relations with BJP and that is why he even put up candidates in constituencies like Jorhat and Amguri where AIUDF has no base.

Gogoi accused the BJP-led NDA government in Centre of violating the federal structure of the country and indulging in dishonest tactics to topple governments in States ruled by Congress and other Opposition parties.

He said that BJP has spent more than other parties during successive election campaigns across the country and called on the saffron party to reveal the sources from which it has received the funds.

With regard to the AgustaWestland chopper scam, Gogoi said that the BJP government was indulging in a witch-hunt to target its political opponents rather than conducting a proper investigation into the issue to catch the culprits.

You (Central government) have been sleeping on the matter for the last two years. Who has prevented you from investigating the matter? We (Congress) want the matter to be properly investigated and we have even said that we will welcome investigation monitored by a Judge of the Supreme Court, he said.

He said that only the rich sections of society and corporate houses have benefited during the NDA rule.
