IMPHAL, Nov 4 - Union Minister of State for Sports (Independent Charge) Vijay Goel arrived here today on a two-day visit to the State.
Later, Goel along with Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and officials drove to Yaithibi Loukon area, about 30 km from here to inspect the land allotted for construction of National Sports University (NSU). He also visite another proposed site for the NSU near Khurkhul village under Imphal West district.
The Union Minister informed the media that an expert team from Centre will be sent to conduct a detailed study of the construction sites soon.
Goel is expected to inaugurate a Football Academy at SAI North Eastern Regional Centre, Imphal before his departure on Saturday.
