GUWAHATI, May 18 � Lieutenant General Sarath Chand, the General Officer Commanding of Tezpur-based Gajraj Corps, along with Major General CP Mohanty of Red Horns Division visited Kokrajhar to review the ongoing operations against the NDFB(S) by the Unified Command.
He took stock�of the present security scenario in the BTAD. He also met Hagrama Mohilary, the BTC chief and newly elected members of the council. He congratulated Mohilary on his third consecutive win in the BTC election and assured him of all necessary assistance from the Unified Command in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
Lieutenant General Chand also interacted with Khampa Borgoyari, deputy chief of the BTC and other members of the council and stressed the need to bring about more synergy and cooperation between the Unified Command and BTC to improve the overall security situation in the region in the long run.
The issue related to safety and relocation of civilians in Darranga Field Firing Range was also discussed. Dr Anupam Roy, Principal Secretary BTC, Dr LR Bishnoi, IG BTAD and other civil and police officials were also present on the occasion, said an Army release.
