GOC 3 Corps extends Vijay Diwas greetings

GUWAHATI, Dec 16 � On the occasion of Vijay Diwas today, Lt Gen AK Sahni, GOC, 3 Corps has conveyed his greetings and best wishes to all ranks of the Army, ex-servicemen, and their families residing and deployed in the Northeastern States.

�December 16, is a glorious day in the annals of history of the Indian Army made possible due to the supreme sacrifice of our valiant soldiers during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The Indian Army changed the course of history with its undeterred courage, dedication and professionalism, bringing glory and honour to the nation,� he noted.

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, he saluted the soldiers and called upon all ranks to rededicate themselves in the service of the country.

He said that cells would be created across all the districts of the State and people would get an opportunity to enroll themselves and get the MHIS card.

By Monday, the list of beneficiaries would be collated from data available from the census figure, electoral rolls and BPL list and those who figure in the Health department website would also be eligible for the scheme.

A biometric card would then be issued to the family after taking the fingerprints of five members in a family. �The success of the programme would depend on the number of families taking benefit of the scheme and then spreading the message to others,� the Chief Minister said.
