Goalpara boys outplay South Point School

GUWAHATI, April 17 - Goalpara Cricket Academy outclassed South Point School by a big margin of 147 runs in the inaugural match of the Bud Cricket Club organised 7th Sitaram Agarwala Memorial U-17 Inter School/Organisation Cricket Tournament.

At the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today, opting to bat first the Goalpara boys gathered a commendable total of 261 in 45.4 overs. The highlight of the Goalpara CA innings was two half centuries by Gourav Thakuria (58) and Akash Sengupta (not out 57).

The South Point School batsmen miserably failed in chasing the tough target and were bundled out for 114. Tanmoy Kalita (4/27) and Sambhav Jain (3/20) were the wreckers for the Goalpara team as Dhruv Raj Borah was the top scorer for South Point with 20.

Subham Jain of the winning team was named man-of-the-match.
