TURA, July 19 - Reacting to the blocking of their social networking page on Facebook by the Meghalaya police, the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) has threatened to shut down all mobile towers if the outfit was not allowed to provide information and interact with people of the region through the social networking site.
The block on the page came about after the Meghalaya police sought a ban on the page for propaganda by the outfit and till July 17, the site had more than 950 followers.
�Garo Mandei Marak� and �Garo National Liberation Army, HQ A�sim, News Bulletin� have been blocked by the FB authorities on complaints by the Meghalaya Government and the police department last night. Earlier, they have stopped the media in publishing news about us or the NGOs�, said a release from the joint publicity secretary, Garo Mandei Marak.
