TURA, Nov 28 - Three days after the killing of a senior Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) member, the Special Force-10 commandos of East Garo Hills today had another encounter with the outfit which led to recovery of a huge cache of ammunition and demand pads. Ruga T Sangma, a close aide of GNLA chief Sohan D Shira, was killed in an operation last week in Songma Adugre village in East Garo Hills.

According to police, the encounter took place today after information of the presence of a camp of the outfit in Gonggre village. The commandos raided the camp and recovered 245 rounds of AK ammo along with 45 GNLA demand pads.

While there was no incident in the camp, on their return the SF-10 commandos exchanged fire with GNLA militants at Darimgre under Williamnagar Police Station when militants made an attempt to ambush them. However, there were no injuries or casualties reported from either side during the exchange.
