GNLA camp busted in East Garo Hills

TURA, Sept 27 - The fight between the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) and police forces continued once again in East Garo Hills (EGH) with security forces busting another camp in the district after information of the presence of GNLA militants in the area.

While there were no casualty on either side, police sources confirmed that some militants may have been injured in the firefight as blood stains were found near the site of the encounter.

According to police sources, a raid was undertaken based on inputs of the presence of a camp with the commander in chief of the outfit, Sohan D Shira suspected to be amongst those within the camp. The incident took place near the village of Jakopgre under Williamnagar PS at about 6.30 am today.
