GMDA officers, staff contribute to Arogya Nidhi

GUWAHATI, April 7 - The officers and employees of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) have contributed their one day�s salary totalling Rs 1,72,846 to the Assam Arogya Nidhi to help the State government fight the novel coronavirus disease. The officers of the GMDA have also been adopting poor families whose livelihood means have been disrupted by the lockdown, stated a press release.

AGVB contribution: The Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, the only regional rural bank functioning in Assam, has contributed Rs 10 lakh to the Prime Minister�s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM - CARES Fund) as a solidarity gesture to help the nation fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The amount was credited to the PM CARES Fund account at SBI, New Delhi main branch. AGVB has also contributed to the State government�s Assam Arogya Nidhi for the same purpose.
