By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 31 The Brihattar Zoo-Narengi Tiniali Anchalik Unnayan Samiti in a recent meeting appreciated the strong stand taken by the GMDA Chairman Dhiren Baruah over the rampant violation of road level norms in the city as reported in The Assam Tribune.

The Samiti congratulated Baruah for his courage and honesty in insisting on the maintenance of the existing level of roads, lanes, by-lanes, drains, etc.

Endorsing Baruahs stand that road constructing authorities such as the PWD, GMC, etc., should be brought to book for flouting road level norms, the Samiti said that conscientious individuals like Baruah should be given full public support in his fight for improving the civic amenities of Guwahati, especially when the collective might of the official agencies had miserably failed the citizens. It also urged the authorities concerned to protect the rich biodiversity of the Gitanagar area.
