GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - Top seed Grand Master Vasquez Schroeder Rodrigo of Chile clinched the�title in the 3rd RGS Guwahati India Open International Rating Chess Tournament 2019 which concluded�here today.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Queen Oja, Lakhya Konwar Member Secretary (SLAC) Govt of Assam, Mridul Kumar Mahanta, Additional Secretary (WPT&BC), Govt of Assam, Deba Kumar Mishra Director, Tourism, Govt of Assam, Ritubaran Sharma, Vice Chairman, Amtron, Atanu Lahiri, Joint Secretary, All India Chess Federation, Santanu Kalita among others.

Altogether 356 players from 7 countries including host India� participated in this 6-day chess event which carried a total prize money of Rs 10 lakh.

The tournament is being supported by Government of Assam, Life Insurance Corporation of India Limited (LIC), ONGC, Assam Tourism, Numaligarh Refinary Limited among others which was �organised by Assam Chess Club and Royal Global School.
