Gita Jayanti Mahotsav on Dec 8

GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is organising Gita Jayanti Mahotsav - 2019 with a colourful programme on December 8 on the premises of Sri Sri Jagannath Temple cum Cultural Complex, Jayanagar here, said a press release.

Gita Jayanti is the day Lord Krishna spoke about the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita before his devotee friend Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

The programme will start with Mangal Arati at 4.30 am to be followed by Nagar Kirtan and Bhagavad Gita procession in Beltola area from Jagannath Temple at 7.30 am and Harinaam Kirtan from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. At 3 pm there will be yajna with recitation of 700 slokas from the Bhagavad Gita. The programme will conclude with pravachan and prasad distribution.
