TURA, June 20 - Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) in a meeting on June 18 constituted a committee to draft a fresh memorandum to be submitted to the Prime Minister on the demand for a separate Garo State.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nikman Marak, who is also the chairman of the movement for a separate State.
In a release, the GHSMC announced the names of members that would comprise the drafting committee which will later include scholars, educationists, elders and leaders of different communities.
The members include Augustine Marak, Deputy CEM of GHADC, Balkari Marak, co-chairman, Silning Sangma, Dimseng Marak, Shoshan Sangma, Salsam Marak, Sourup Marak, Rockyfillier Sangma, Tengrak Sangma, Debu T Sangma and Wilness Marak.
