TINSUKIA, March 14 � Congress candidate for the 13 Dibrugarh Lok Sabha HPC, Paban Singh Ghatowar has started his election campaign in Tinsukia today.

Addressing party workers at a meeting organised by the Tinsukia block Congress committee at Tamulbari Community Centre here, the veteran Congressman said that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government has changed the face of the country in the last 10 years.

The UPA government undertook many developmental activities to make the country at par with development nations, he said and added that the government had adopted and implemented several welfare schemes, like IAY, NRHM, MNREGA, NRLM, etc., as flagship programmes which had helped the poor people of the country.

He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party, during its five-year tenure from 2001, had done nothing for the people.
