BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 31 - General Observer to HP 8 Mangaldai constituency, Captain JM Pathania reviewed poll preparedness in Rangiya Election District and took stock of the law and order situation in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Immediately after his arrival from Mangaldai, District Election Officer Munindra Bordoloi held a meeting on Saturday with senior administrative and police officers of the Election District at the office chamber of the Rangiya SDO (C) to take stock of the poll preparedness and the security arrangements in place in order to ensure hassle-free conduct of polls.
District Election Officer Munindra Bordoloi apprised the Election Observer about the steps taken by the administration to ensure smooth and impartial conduct of election in the district and also about the voter awareness campaign carried out in a big way to increase voters� turnout.
General Observer Pathania also took stock of the �Assured Minimum Facilities� to be offered in the polling stations, as well as providing facilities to persons with disabilities (PwD) and elderly citizens. He also inspected different cells of the election administration.
Significantly, the Rangiya Election District administration is setting up 30 all-women polling stations.
Earlier, the Election Observer visited the training centres of polling personnel which were organised in Rangiya Higher Secondary School and Rangiya Girls� Higher Secondary School. He subsequently offered valuable suggestions to the polling officers for smooth conduct of the poll process.
The Election Observer will again visit Rangiya tomorrow and review poll preparedness in a meeting with the zonal and sector officers at the conference hall of the SDO (C)�s office.
