IMPHAL, Feb 7: A 21-page gender budget statement – the first of its kind in the State – was tabled in the Manipur Legislative Assembly on Saturday. This is aimed at infusing a gender perspective at all stages of policy making.
As per the gender budget, the estimates for 2020-21 have been projected at Rs 2470.22 lakh, the revised estimates at Rs 2782.70 lakh and the budget estimates for 2021-2022 at Rs 2864.42 lakh.
The gender budget means employment of a gender lens in the formulation of legislation, policies, plans, etc.
