GUWAHATI, Sept 23 � Gautam Kalita is gearing up for the ESPN�s Muscle Mania World Championship to be held at Las Vegas on November 19 and 20.
Addressing a press conference here today, Gautam, who earlier won the title in 2007, said this time he is expecting to win the title and is working hard these days for a good show.
State Education Minister Gautam Bora today inaugurated a gym in the Six Mile area here, billed � do The Gym, where Kalita will be the chief trainer.
Inaugurating the gym, Bora said he will extend a helping hand to Kalita and will try to garner financial assistance from the State Government.
Prasanta Bora, secretary of Association of Bodybuilders Assam (ABBA) said that Gautam Kalita will represent their organisation and they will provide all kind of support as possible.
Bora further revealed that their organisation will send teams to the Eastern India Championship to be held at Maldah on October 1 and 2. They have also prepared teams for the Junior and Masters slated for October 30 and 31 at Agra, Federation Cup at Gurgaon on November 24 and 25 and senior national to be held at Baroda from January 7 to 9. The teams were selected from the inter-district championship held at Basugaon.
ABBA president Rajendra Prasad Kanu was also present in the press conference.
