Gaura Purnima Mahotsava on March 23

GUWAHATI, March 18 - The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Guwahati, will organise the Gaura Purnima Mahotsava 2016 at its temple-cum-cultural complex in South Sarania, Ulubari, on March 23.

The appearance of the preacher of Yoga Dharma Harinaam Sankirtan, Sri Gauranga (Sri Krishna Chaitanya) Mahaprabhu, the incarnation of Lord Krishna, at Mayapur Dham of Nadia district in West Bengal on the bank of River Ganges in 1486 is observed by the devotees of the ISKCON all over the world as Gaura Purnima Mahotsava.

On March 23, the programme will start in the morning with Harinaam Sankirtan by temple devotees. It will be followed by Pushpa Holi Yatra and Nagar Sankirtan by the devotees and members of the ISKCON from the Income Tax office on GS Road to the ISKCON Temple at Ulubari.

In the afternoon, there will be Gauranga Mahaprabhu�s abhishek, sandhya arati, Gauranga Lila Katha by Bhakti Visrambha Madhav Swami Maharaj from the USA and a short devotional and cultural programme. The programme will end with the distribution of prasadam, a press release stated.
