DIBRUGARH, March 6 Brihattar Lepetkatta Borboruah Sramik Surksha Samittee has refuted media reports that the progress of the gas cracker was being hampered due to workers agitation, asserting that all worker-related turmoils were offshoots of anti-worker policy of the constructing companies at the site.
The samittee alleged that companies undertaking contract works of the gas cracker project were responsible for all chaotic situation at the work site. The company officials were trying to create division among the workers, the samittee alleged.
Moreover, failure on the part of the BCPL to abide by the agreement signed between the workers and constructing companies on October 20, 2009 and non- fulfillment of the wage directive of the Labour and Employment ministry, the Sramik Suraksha Samittee said would lead to continued agitations. In order to create a congenial environment for work at the site the workers should be provided with all the necessary amenenities and wage as per the Centres directive, the samittee said.
