By Correspondent

TURA, Aug 8 - Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) has sought the assistance of the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), a Hyderabad-based group of auditors and chartered accountants, to look into the organisational structure of the Council and seek reforms.

The reformation has been initiated by the chairman of the Resource Mobilisation Committee of GHADC, Sengnal N Sangma, NPP MDC from Wagesik, and CEM of GHADC, Denang T Sangma, along with CGG team led by Shabir Shaikh.

The CGG team will study the present organisational structure to formulate efficient methods for financial management of GHADC.

They will study the working of GHADC and suggest the best ways to manage the health of GHADC. We will work with them to ensure streamlining of the current work being done by GHADC. The idea is to streamline the working process, Sengnal said.

Manuals for each department are set to be prepared by the CGG to formulate the best way forward. These manuals will help the officers and staff in carrying out their activities more efficiently and effectively, he added.

Staff service regulation will also be prepared to streamline service matters such as promotions, transfers and recruitment of employees of GHADC. The roles and responsibilities of the staff will be properly defined so that role clarity will emerge in a defined manner and accountability can be properly delineated. These reforms will bring in efficiency and effectiveness in GHADC so that the people of Garo Hills can get better service delivery, said Shabeer Shaikh, the CGG team leader.
