DERGAON, Oct 9 - Different developmental schemes to be implemented during the next financial year at Baruabamungaon Gaon Panchayat (BGP) under Kakodonga Development Block in Golaghat district were discussed in a Gaon Sabha held recently.
The meeting, chaired by the president of BGP Rijumoni Bora Dutta and moderated by the secretary of BGP Ratul Saikia was attended by a large gathering.
At the very outset, floral tributes were paid before the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by noted freedom fighter and a progressive coconut farmer named Jogen Bora in the session which was moderated by former Zila Parishad Constituency (ZPC) member Bhaben Gogoi. Tributes to the Father of the Nation were also paid by several dignitaries present in the meeting.
Kakodonga ZPC member Nijora Baruah planted a coconut sapling in the panchayat office premises.
Taking part in the programme, the Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA), North East states Sanjoy Kumar Hazarika delivered a speech on SBA to mark the �Swachhata Hi Seva� programme on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Through his speech he highlighted different schemes to be implemented by the Panchayats in the line of SBA merging with the normal development schemes.
He urged the Gaon Panchayat Development Programme (GPDP) committees to keep it in mind while they sit for finalisation of programmes of their respective wards.
In the meeting, representatives from various line departments like Mridul Baruah (PWD), Anjan Pachani (PHE), N Ahmed (Irrigation), P Bora (Agriculture) etc., explained about their activities in the panchayat areas.
Ward members of the panchayat along with former Anchalik panchayat member Manashi Bora also took part in the meeting.
The meeting held a threadbare discussion on the schemes to be taken up during the financial year 2020-21 along with works going on under the 14th Finance Commission under the panchayat.
