NAGAON, May 12 - Nagaon Police in a massive drive arrested three bag and chain snatchers from three separate spots in the town on Friday night and also seized a motorcycle without number plate from their possession.
According to police sources, the nabbed persons have been identified as Makshidul Islam of Karoiguri, Rupahihat, Rahmat Ali and Tahazul Islam of Dhing. Sources said that the nabbed snatchers were presented in the Nagaon court on Saturday and subsequently the court sent all of them to jail.
Interestingly, a gang of snatchers have been active in the town over the last few days and they were able to snatch a bag containing around Rs one lakh from a woman near Chalachal hotel at Maruwaripatty in the town. They also tried to snatch away a bag from another senior citizen at the same location just a day before the first incident in which the snatchers dragged the man along with his bag and the victim sustained severe injuries on his back as well as on his wrist.
