GUWAHATI, Oct 15 - Sensation prevailed in the Paltan Bazar area of the city after miscreants allegedly damaged portions of a Ganesha idol installed at a Durga Puja pandal early this morning. The incident took place around 7 am at the New Field Durga Puja pandal located at SB Banerjee Road of Paltan Bazar.
Police said the miscreants severed a portion of the Ganesha idol�s trunk and the head of a snake in the another idol. No other damage was done. �Either it could be a mischief or some people did it due to superstition,� a police official said.
Police has registered a case. No one has been picked up till this evening.
