NAGAON, July 24 - The people of Raha will stage a gana satyagraha on August 15 in support of their demand to establish an AIIMS at Raha. This was decided in a meeting held on Saturday at Raha Pandit Gopinath Bordoloi Vidyapith under the presidentship of Prahlad Masrang, former president of Tiwa Students� Union where representatives of 20 different organisations including Tiwa Students� Union, AASU, AJYCP, KMSS, MASS, Tai Ahom, Moran Motok, Bodo, Karbi, Marwari and minority took part.
Besides, the gana satyagraha, the meeting also decided to hold a convention within this month in middle Assam for the establishment of AIIMS at Raha.
The meeting also demanded the unconditional release of four persons who were arrested during the ongoing agitations at Raha.
