ITANAGAR, Aug 22 - The Galo Students Union (GSU), Galo Youth Organisation (GYO) and Galo People Front (GPF) launched the Tala Bandh Andolan at all Government establishments barring schools and hospitals in 28th Likabali and 36th Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituencies which entered the second day today.

The Galo organisations resorted to this harsh agitation in protest against the State Governments alleged failure in functionalising the newly created Lower Siang district, which was notified way back in 2014.

The agitating organisations have been insisting the Government to functionalise the Lower Siang district by posting the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police along with other HoDs at the temporary district headquarters, Likabali, located along the Assam-Arunachal border.
